Refund policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

This policy describes exactly how Certified Mail Desk handles refunds. It reflects what the system actually does at each stage of an order.

Before your letter is submitted for mailing

Between payment and the moment your letter is submitted for printing and mailing, the order can still be stopped. If it is cancelled in that window, whether by you contacting us or by the system because it could not be completed, you receive a full refund. Nothing has been printed or mailed.

After your letter is submitted for mailing

Once your letter has been submitted for printing and mailing, it is produced and inducted into the USPS mailstream and cannot be recalled. Orders are not refundable after that point. The service you paid for, printing and mailing by USPS Certified Mail with a proof-of-mailing record, has been performed. This applies even if USPS later marks the letter unclaimed, refused, or returned to sender, because a returned certified letter is itself part of the mailing record.

If we fail to mail a paid order

If we accept payment but cannot mail your letter for any reason on our side, we do not keep your money and we do not stay silent. The order is marked as not mailed, you receive a full refund, and we email you to explain what happened and how to send it again.

Discretionary refunds

We may issue a refund at our discretion in circumstances not covered above. Refund decisions of this kind are made by our staff, not automatically.

How to request a refund

Email [email protected] from the address on the order, with your order number (CM-YYYY-NNNN). Refunds are returned to the card used at checkout.
