What USPS Certified Mail provides
- A unique USPS article number (the tracking number) assigned to your letter.
- A mailing record showing the item was accepted by USPS, which establishes the date of mailing.
- Tracking status from acceptance through delivery.
- A record of delivery, or of an attempted or refused delivery, held by USPS.
What an Electronic Return Receipt is, and is not
The Electronic Return Receipt is the recipient's signature, captured by USPS at delivery and returned to us electronically. We archive it with your order. It is the electronic equivalent of the paper return receipt. It is not the physical green card mailed back to you, and it does not include a scanned image of a hand-signed card.
